Well, there are 5 ways and 1 shortcut to reach that goal.
To the first question, there are numerous answers . So many things can go wrong. These stumbling blocks are like land mines in a battle field. Whichever way you step, you might hit a mine and you are stopped dead. The answer could be anywhere right from the beginning, like your lead generation, to the last thing like your sales page and your website.
It's not my intention to go through the steps of the process from the first to the last. Many books and articles have been written on any topic of Internet Marketing you can imagine. Whatever knowledge you need you can search on Google. What I want to do here is to give you the answers to the questions in the title.
So, you would like to make more money in network marketing, or affiliate marketing. What this means is that right now you are not making as much money as you would like to, right? Otherwise you would not have said yes. You might not even want to read this article.
The next question is then, "Why are you NOT making enough money, or even any money"? A good question, isn't it? Well, my answer is perhaps,
(1) "You are not talking to the RIGHT people"!
What do I mean by that? Simply, you are not talking to the ones who are INTERESTED in your offer. You're talking to the wrong people.
This subject is called "Targeting". You choose the audience whom you want to reach.
You can target your audience by demographics, i.e. by age, sex, income, geographical area, and so on. You can also target them by characteristics, or both. For example, you are selling high class fine jewelry, so you specify women, of between such and such an age, with so much income, they can be in any big cities, and they must like fine jewelry (not costume or silver).
In offline advertising this is easy, because the mailing list companies can supply you any list under the sun. But online, it's not easy. The mailing list companies have, however, expanded into the online side of the business. So, you need to call around. One or two may have it. But again if you use their list, you may encounter the spamming problem, unless they do it for you from their server.
How can you address the problem of characteristics on line? It depends on what medium you use. For example, if you use Pay Per Click, then you choose the right Key Words for your ad.
If you use the Shot Gun Approach type of medium then you have to do it in the headline and the body copy of your ad. Let me explain. When you shoot with a rifle, it's one bullet hitting your AIMED target, say, a deer. When you shoot at the group of flying ducks with a shot gun, the pellets spread over the group, hitting randomly a few of them. In other words, with the shot gun approach there is no exact targeting. You hope you hit some of them.
Using Email marketing with the list of Opportunity Seekers supplied by a service company is the shot gun approach. They are all opportunity seekers. You don't know what they like or dislike. So you use your ad to do the targeting for you.
Go back up and look at the title of this eBook, blog, or report. You'll see that I target network or affiliate marketers who are not earning enough money right now. I don't care about those that are already rich. That's not my target. I don't care if they will or will not read this article.
Categories, you have seen this word before. Some email marketing companies have it. Most classified ad sites have it. This is their attempt to narrow down your audience. So it is a little bit more targeted.
I hope you see my point about targeting. If you don't reach the audience who are interested in what you offer, then you make no or very few sales.
(2) Your ADVERTISING is not effective enough. It does not convert. This is the second answer to this question of why you're not making enough money. This may also include your sales page and website too.
What it boils down to is that your advertising has not been able to CONVINCE your reader to join your program. They are NOT SOLD on your project. How can you find out the reason for this?
First, put yourself in the readers', your prospects' shoes. Pretend to be one of them . Clear your head. Read the ad. If it doesn't convince you, then it won't convince them either. Ask yourself why you are not convinced. What is lacking? Maybe it's not believable? Then you have to prove your case. Add more testimonials. Or it could be other factors. Anyway by this time you should have some idea.
Then you should do some research. Ask other people, qualified ones, within the industry. Answers from unqualified people will not count. It may even lead you astray. Ask your sponsor, your mentor, and someone you know in this niche. Their feed back will tell you more. Reconcile all their opinions with what you feel, you should be able to figure out the answer. Once you know the answer, then you can correct the ad.
The more appropriate way is to market test your ad. This is more advanced . I won't get into it here. What I have said so far should be enough. The auto-responder companies can help you with ad testing.
It is possible that there is nothing wrong with your ad. Everything is fine with it, and the presentation is also good. Perhaps, you haven't advertise enough. Did you take massive action? Also maybe they don't want to join because ....
(3) They don't like something else. This could be anything. They may not like the product, the company, the CEO, your team, you, or the timing. These could be just excuses or real reasons. But the point is that they don't join you. If you can find out the real objection and can handle it, then it's okay.
But, keep one point in mind. Network marketing is a relationship business, not a sales business. If you have to close them (like in sales) to get them to join, then you will have to go and close them every month otherwise they will quit, or will stop paying the auto ship, which is the same as quitting.
Attraction marketing is the key. You make them like you and trust you. Whatever you do, they'll go along with you. "Closing" is for those sale-type heavy hitters and pushy salespersons.
Whenever I see an ad which says "we close the sale for you", I have to shake my head. They don't know network marketing, period.
(4) You didn't follow up. Ah, a lot of people forget about this, it seems. This is the fourth answer to not making enough money in network marketing. Research has shown that on the average, a prospect has to see the ad about 7 times before any action is taken. For Direct Response advertising it shouldn't take that long because of incentives like discounts, free gifts, etc. So, if you show the ad to the same prospect less than seven times, it is likely that you won't get him/her. The next advertiser who comes along at the right time and shows him/her the 6th, or 7th time could steal that prospect from you.
I would follow up at least 10 times. I know some who would follow up for a year. His theory is that during that one month, the prospect may not be in a favorable financial state to do the business.
(5) Your program does NOT reward you enough. That is, the Pay Plan is NOT in your favor. This is the fourth answer as to why you are not making enough money. How the company remunerates you is normally called the Compensation Plan or Pay Plan.
There are all kinds of Pay-Plans. But there are only 3 "financial" types:
a. The one that is in favor of the company. They profit most. They don't care much about their distributors.
b. The one in favor of heavy hitters, and pay little for part-timers and little guys.
c. The one that is fair and take care of part-timers first and heavy hitters second, or at the same time, because such companies realize that most distributors start out as part-timers. They value distributors as their assets.
Now, if you're not making much money, very likely the company you join is in group (a) or (b).
So, how can you make more money with them? Can you talk to them to change the Pay-Plan? If so, all well and good. Otherwise nothing you can do about it. You are stuck!
Let me recap what I have said so far.
You see, I choose to do network marketing because I know I can make a lot of money. That's my whole purpose. And I'm not happy if I don't make as much money as I should, or want to. I feel I am short-changed. I hope you feel the same way. In order to make more money, there are absolutely five things you must do. You must talk to the right people, those who are interested in your offer. You must have good effective advertising including the sales page and website that will convert. You must eliminate all other unfavorable factors which may cause them not to join you. You must follow up with them. And lastly, the company you choose to join must have the Pay Plan which rewards you well, favoring part-timers, little guys, and newbies. By rewarding you well, I also mean the Pay Plan is achievable too.
The first two, targeting and advertising effectiveness are in your control. The third one, they don't like something else, you can control to a certain extent. The fourth one, follow up, that's 100% in your control. You need to use auto-responder. But the fifth one, the Pay Plan, is usually NOT in your control. But some companies do listen to distributors' comments about the Pay Plan and they make adjustment accordingly. Such cases are rare though.
The next part I want to talk about is, "If I could show you the way to make the MOST MONEY, that is, the Highest Amount, would you be interested"?
Assuming that you have tried all those 5 methods above with your company and your income does not increase up to your satisfaction, what would you do? Tell me frankly. Would you still stay with them? Still be loyal to them? What about if your downline shrinks, because they are having the same problems as you have, and quit. One by one. Would you still hang in there?
English is not my first language, but when I heard an expression, "You are flogging a dead horse" it made me think! It doesn't matter how much you flog it, the horse won't run, or can't run. It's dead!
Anthony Robbins says, “If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten.”
So, open your eyes, your mind, don't stay with them if you don't succeed. Go for the BIG money. You have to change.
Albert Einstein says,“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over and over again, but expecting a different result.” You see what I mean?
I'm saying all this, because I am a human being, and I don't want to see another human being getting stuck somewhere if I can help him/her.
Now here's the shortcut to making the MOST money without the above obstacles.

From the third (3rd) person on your fast start bonus jumps to $20 each. That is about two-thirds of the product price. And it stays on at this amount for ALL your personally sponsored business partners.
(3) The 2 x 10 FORCED MATRIX. (pronounced 2 by 10). What this means is that you can have at most only 2 people on each level, and it goes down 10 levels deep. So, the first two people you sponsor go into your first level. The third one you sponsor is "spilled over" and will go in to the next (or second) level. And so on. Now, don't forget that you need not sponsor this third person. You are already qualified for all commissions. (Also don't get this mixed up with the "binary". There is no balancing act to do here).
If you add up all the members of your downline from the first to the 10th level, it comes to 1024.
At this point you may say, "Hey, I haven't seen any 10th level in any company before"! Well that's because the Pay Plan is not structured like IDEAL's. You see the national average for any network marketer to sponsor is 2.7 people. Here, you need to sponsor only 2, so you are within the range. Success is within your grasp. Also all those that you sponsor will start building their downline too. So, your whole downline is built very fast, each person doing his or her little part. Your commission up to this 10th level is $2 per product or unit. If each member buys one unit each, you make $2048 total. This is residual income that you earn every month because it is on auto-ship. IDEAL is product-driven, they pay per product purchased, not by number of people in your downline. If a particular member buys two units a month, you'll get $4 commission from him/her. Let's round off the commission to $2000 per month.

(4) Continue 5 more levels from 11th to 15th level. Same MATRIX format. Since each member can easily sponsor 2 people, your downline multiply fast. Especially if you help your downline sponsor their people, soon you will get to the 15th level.
There are 63,488 members in the 11th to the 15th level. For this group, your commission is 25 cents each. You think that is small don't you? But wait. The volume is large. 63488 x 0.25 = $15,872.
Add the income from the first 10 matrix of $2,000. Your total earnings is $17,000+ PER MONTH every month. How is that for an opportunity? Your monthly investment is only $29.97 plus tax plus shipping.
That's not bad at all. And they are all residual income.
(5) PAY POINT - Where you double, triple , or quadruple, etc, your income for FREE! You have NEVR seen this before anywhere in the world!

In other words, you "re-enter" in to the matrix again, for free, you don't have to pay anything. This is called Pay-Point. So you get paid TWICE from just member 3, first as You #2, and second as the first YOU. Wow!

Heavy hitters may think their income is capped out if the matrix is filled up. With Pay-Points it will never be filled up because they re-enter. This solves the heavy-hitters' problem.
Don't get this mixed up with programs like "re-cycling the matrix". This one has nothing to do with that. And you don't re-cycle. You just re-enter as if you are another person.

Affiliate Programs.
I haven't said much about affiliate program. The techniques of solving problems are the same as as in Network Marketing. The difference is that Affiliate programs are really short term. You're dealing with fads. They come and go quickly. There are some people that don't like Network Marketing because they either have had bad experiences or a misconception about it. So these will only do affiliate programs.
With affiliate programs, you 'll need to constantly look out for more products to sell. The worst part is that you don't have residual income (i.e. sell one time, and earn money every month forever). But, it is true that you can make a lot of money, like a couple of millions a year. Probably less than a handful of people can do that.
